At least 21 inches of snow fell in Providence at the end of January after blizzard-like conditions hammered New England.
Blizzard conditions were reached in several locations across Rhode Island and Massachusetts on Saturday, Jan. 29. Providence, Newport, Westerly and Block Island were the Rhode Island locations listed as having official blizzards, according to the National Weather Service.
Warren reported 24.6 inches of snow on the ground as of 5:40 p.m., the highest total posted thus far by National Weather Service spotters in Rhode Island.
