When Snow Time Becomes Showtime

At least 21 inches of snow fell in Providence at the end of January after blizzard-like conditions hammered New England.

Blizzard conditions were reached in several locations across Rhode Island and Massachusetts on Saturday, Jan. 29. Providence, Newport, Westerly and Block Island were the Rhode Island locations listed as having official blizzards, according to the National Weather Service.

Warren reported 24.6 inches of snow on the ground as of 5:40 p.m., the highest total posted thus far by National Weather Service spotters in Rhode Island.

For a great many, the ice and snow can be an aggravation, while for others it can be an inspiration for creativity.

Here is what happens when some have turned their snow supply into an art supply ‚ and turned “Snow Time” into “Show Time.” If you have a home-made snow creation you’d like to share, please send it to us and we’ll add it to this page.
